when family comes to town

Two weeks ago my family (my mom, my Dad, Chloe, and Chloe's friend, Chari) got to come visit us.
I was elated, to say the least.
I absolutely love when they visit and I love it even more now that we have Brody.
One of my favorite things is to witness the love my family has for my little guy.
I didn't take many pictures, except when we went to Jackson Hole.
It was a fun filled day full of ice cream, sunshine, and shopping.
Jeff has been working like crazy the past two months (full time work and school)
so he couldn't hang out too much,
which is why he couldn't come to Jackson Hole with us.
(We love him lots though for being such a dang hard worker.)
I missed my family the moment they left.

Not only did I say goodbye to them going back to Washington,
but my Mom left on a plane that day to India.
She'll be there for eight weeks.
I'm so lucky to have my mom's example in my life.
Her selflessness is something I will always strive to obtain.
Thank goodness for Skype though, we will stay in touch her entire trip.

Love you, my wonderful family. I am so blessed to be a part of the Kent club!

We had a wonderful Fourth of July.
It being Brody's first,
I was having lots of first as well.
First time having Brody in the sun- Thanks, Mom, for the baby sunscreen.
First time dressing my baby in holiday attire- Girls are a bit more fun in this area.
First time having a baby around fireworks- Jeff's noise canceling headphones (minus music) worked perfectly.
He slept right through them.
We had a fun day with friends, 90+ degree weather, the Idaho Falls, card games,
and a two hour long car ride home trying to get through traffic.
One of my favorite things about Jeff is that he doesn't get irritated with mundane things such as traffic.
We made our way home safely in the right hand lanewith little Brody sleeping away in the backseat.
It's funny how before Brody came we took so many things for granted.
Quiet time just for talking is one of these.
We talked all the way home. It was nice.
Jeff had yesterday off from work and even took a break from homework to spend the day with Brody and me.
I was so grateful.

Happy Fourth everyone. I hope your's was as fun and fulfilling as our's was.
