Kar's B-day.

Have I told you what an awesome husband I have? Yes, well I will tell you again. On Thursday I got home from school and on our table was a huge German Chocolate cake complete with "22nd" written in chocolate chips. There was even 22 candles on the cake!!

He also surprised me with a Kindle!! I was so shocked. I am so excited to use this nifty little gift. He is definitely very thoughtful. He had even used his saved up Plasma money for it. I had no idea.

& the cake of course, was delicious. He got my favorite to go with it- Expresso flavored ice cream. Yum!

Then on Saturday we went out to eat the Applebees. It was so fun. When you are used to considering "eating out" as stopping by the Taco Bell drive thru, places like Applebees are like a dream. (Thanks Jenae for the Birthday gift card- You rock!)

These past few days have been filled with Happy Birthdays wishes, cards, and gifts. I feel so loved. I can tell already that this twenty-second year is going to be a good one for sure!

Little Jaykay !!

Yup! That is right, and we are so so excited!! The baby is ten weeks today and we got the first real ultrasound. It was moving a lot. We were both really surprised. Jeff is convinced that the baby already knows how to do the worm. The due date is officially April 13th. It couldn't have chosen a better time to come. Our Spring Break is April 7th to April 17th. I mean really? How much more perfect can you get?

Here is the newest member of our family's picture, and already cute as can be. You can even see the tiny arm!

Quilting + Karli = Love

So a week and a half before school started I decided that I wanted to learn how to quilt. However, I knew that if this was ever going to happen, I needed to do it fast before school, work, and life happened. So, I called up a lady I found online (who turned out to be a missionary with her husband) and was able to take a few lessons, and finish my very first quilt right before school started! I am so so proud of it. I show it to everyone that comes over to our apartment. It has minky material on the back so it is SO comfy. You should come over and feel it (:

A few pictures from our Summer Trip

Our first stop was in Eastern Washington to visit my Nana and Grandpa. Even though we lacked in the picture area, we had a blast. It was so great to see them both in the midst of their busy summer lives at Crescent Bar.

Next we went to the Bremerton area to see my Dad, Chloe, Carl, and Deb. We had some great times there including two Mariners games (Jeff was in heaven)! The first one Carl, Deb, my Dad, Chloe, and I all went together. It was so much, but again, we lacked in getting some photo memories. The second game was really great. Deb, Jeff, Kurtis (Jeff's best friend from High School), and I all went and sat in the King's Court. It is the fun section that is filled with Felix fans. It was a blast wearing our Felix King Yellow shirts, holding our yellow K signs and all. We even were able to see ourselves on TV once we got home. (Carl was able to tape the game.)

Our third stop was Roseville, Ca to visit Jenae, Aaron, Lainie and Sophie. One day we ventured into Sacramento and took some fun pictures.

We went to a restaurant called the Squeeze Inn. It was delicious and definitely hit the spot.

I mean look at those burgers with the cheese skirt!!

Lainie loves her J. Jeff had a lot of fun with his nieces. They are so cute.

After Jenae's house we all traveled to Bass Lake for a family reunion (Deb's side of the family). It was awesome getting to meet the whole family. It was the biggest family get together I had ever been to for sure!

We went on the boat.. a lot. It was a blast! We were there for six full days and went out on the water five of those days. We made so many memories. I loved every minute. Jeff has a really fun family.

Here is me getting ready to wakeboard. That was definitely one of the highlights for me.

This is us right before we went four wheeling. That was such a crazy experience for me. We went on quad and traveled up HUGE rocks up the Shut Eye Peak in Jeff's uncles' Jeeps.

All the cousins together. It was sure fun to see all the dynamics of this big family reunion.

Man oh man, I sure did marry this studly man. Haha.

Time away

While in Sacramento, visiting Jenae, we (Deb, Carl, Jenae, Aaron, Lainie, Sophie, Jeff, and I) went to the downtown area and got pictures taken. It was so fun! Here is just one from the many that I loved.

Since our honeymoon in December, Jeff and I haven't had any time away from work, school, and our busy lives. Taking this much needed trip was awesome. It made me and Jeff both realized how much we LOVE to travel and visit places other than our small apartment. We are planning to go camping before the summer is over when Jeff has consecutive days off work. We can't wait!

It is always a struggle to get back into the mood of real life after returning from such a fun filled trip (more pictures will be posted soon). One thing is for sure though, life doesn't wait for you. We were welcomed back with a stack of mail, a McDonalds work schedule, an empty refrigerator, a to do list for church callings, and more. Lucky us. However, we can't complain much. We are still loving life here in Rexburg and are excited for the adventures this next school year will bring!

this blogging thingg

So I have decided that I'm horrible at blogging. I have very much repect to the people that are religious bloggers. I'm no good at taking frequent pictures and documenting the ones I do take. Someday.. perhaps after children.. I will be better.. maybe.

But as for a small update- Jeff and I are doing great.

Jeff is an official manager at McDonalds now! He is an awesome worker and got promoted only months after starting. With this though, came full time hour weeks, even throughout our Spring semester here at BYU-I. However, (don't ask me how he did it) he got straight A's! Holy Cow. Jeff is also 1st councelor in the Sunday School, which consists of meetings, teaching lessons, and conducting Sunday school every week. He is enjoying his calling, even though it is somewhat outside of his comfort zone.

I continued to tutor at the college. I loved it. I decided that juggling three jobs (insurance company receptionist, Junior High Tutoring, and College Tutoring) got too difficult with my upper level courses, so I eventually limited myself to just my on campus tutoring job. It was awesome though, and my boss said that I can come back any semester that I am at BYUI. So that is where I will be all of next year. It is good for two reasons: I enjoy it, and it helps prepare me for the big math test that I will need to take in order to become an official teacher. Oh, and it's money (make that three reasons). My grades didn't hurt either. I got all A's, and one B+. So I can't complain. The primary is doing well. It finally feel comfortable in this crazy calling. I love the kids, and it does allow for many babysitting opprotunities (for both me and Jeff). Jeff loves it!

Summer started four days ago, and let me tell you.. it has been a loooonnnngggg four days. One negative to my on campus job is that I have NOTHING to do during this seven week summer break. Jeff is at work, and I am at home.. stranded. Our second car, the Ford is not starting and is at the shop, as we speak. So great. The temperature gets over 100 degrees here during the day and we have NO air conditioning (hence my new SHORT haircut, I couldn't handle it). It isn't the best of situations, but I will survive because......

We are leaving for a two and a half week roadtrip in just TWO days. I cannot wait. First we will be heading down to my Nana and Grandpa's for three days, then heading over to Bremerton area for 3 more days, and then going to California to visit Jenae (Yes, airconditioning!) for 3 days, then going to a cabin that Jeff's huge side of the family has rented for a family reunion. It is going to be blast! I can't wait to get away from Rexburg and spend good time with family. I can't ask for anything more.

Anyway, my Mom and Quincy are in INDIA right now. Crazy, I know. Please pray for their safety. Their blog is here. Check it out!! I have wayyy to much time on my hands right now and tend to worry about them a little too much. However, they arrived there safe, so a small portion of my worries have been relieved.

Well, that's all for now. I can honestly promise pictures of the trip though for sure. There are a few other people (mainly Jenae) that are awesome at taking pictures, so I know that there will be plently. (:
